Parents, isn’t keeping your children safe is your top priority? If you see something wrong or even suspect it, take action. Hopefully you are wrong, but what if you are not? What if they are in trouble and they do not speak up? That is where you need to come in and save them. It does not matter if the trouble they are in is them being a victim or a suspect, what matters is you get them the help and attention they need before matters get worse.
Depending on the situation, it may turn out that by helping your child, you need to call them out. It will not be an easy or comfortable discussion to have, but you know it is the right thing to do. The moment you bring the truth out, be sure to let them know that you are on their side and want the best for them.
If you detach yourself from your child’s behavior, things may get worse as they continue to grow up. They may be arrested one day and that is a low point we are trying to avoid here. Put your parenting skills and intuition to the test and get the help your child needs.
